  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra crispiness)

Notes

Instructions

Step 1: Boil the Potatoes

  1. Place the baby potatoes in a large pot and cover with water.
  2. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Boil for 10-12 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain and let cool slightly.

Step 2: Smash the Potatoes

  1. Place the potatoes on a cutting board or baking sheet.
  2. Use a fork or potato masher to gently press down on each potato, flattening it slightly.

Step 3: Season the Potatoes

  1. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Brush the mixture over the smashed potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top (if using).

Step 4: Air Fry to Crispy Perfection

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Place the seasoned smashed potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  1. Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  2. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Pro Tips for Perfect Smashed Potatoes:

Use baby potatoes – They crisp up better than large potatoes.
Smash gently – Too much pressure can make them fall apart.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer – Cook in batches for the crispiest results.
Add a spicy kick – Sprinkle red pepper flakes or drizzle with hot sauce!
